Let’s finish your book.

Book Editing Services

The relationship between writer and editor is more than important.

It’s everything.

You’ve poured your heart into your manuscript. Every scene, every word is an extension of you. Not just anyone can edit your book.

When choosing an editor, it’s important to consider whether they “get” you and your book. Can you trust them to give you the right feedback that will help your book become the best version of itself?

As an editor, my focus is on providing detailed, insightful, and constructive feedback to help my writers see their visions come to fruition. My goal is for you to leave feeling seen and with a fresh perspective on your book to take it to the next step.

Before working together, I make sure we are a good fit. Because when we are, that’s when the book magic happens!

Believe In Your Book

Again

Writing is an art, and that makes the writer (you) an artist. It’s normal to feel like a creative genius one minute and a complete and utter failure the next. Thus is the life of an artist. As an artist myself, I know the ups and downs of creative expression. I know what it feels like to believe in your art, but to let it grow cobwebs in a closed desk drawer. You deserve to share your book with the world. Working with a professional editor can help you get there.

“Lily provided a thorough edit of a book that is very close to my artistic soul, a book that I am very sensitive about changing. Yet Lily was able to navigate through every sentence and provide suggestions that made complete sense, and that helped continuity and clarity of intention.”

David Barker, author of Connected Motion

Meet Your Editor

Hello! I'm Lily

I strongly believe that everyone is an artist and just needs to find their way back to their innate artistry (thank you The Artist’s Way).

As a people person who loves literary solitude, I’m great with people and words. I harness my interpersonal skills to get at the heart of your story and help your manuscript reach its full potential.

I provide fiction and nonfiction book editing services. Let’s chat and figure out how I can best help you.

How It Works

Icons showing the four steps to working with Sirène Storyhouse. Sign up for a developmental editing service.

Step 1

Fill out the general inquiry questionnaire. It should only take a few minutes and will help me determine whether we are a good fit. I will get back to you within 48 hours.

Step 2

You’ll send me your manuscript, and I will perform a free sample edit (500-1000 words) of the kind of editing I believe it needs. This will help you determine if you like my editing style.

Step 3

If you would like, we can meet in person or over Zoom for 15 minutes to further discuss the kind of editor you are looking for.

Step 4

Based on all of these steps, it will now be up to you to decide if you would in fact like for me to edit your manuscript. We’ll set expectations, sign a contract, and set a hard deadline. Then I’ll get to work!
